Alpaca Breeders participating in the Project

First Panel with 100 selected Alpacas

The following breeding farms actively participated in Panel 1 with the first 100 alpacas examined. Some of these farms had already commissioned comprehensive color gene testing early on and painstakingly compiled detailed data on pedigrees and phenotypic traits. All of this enabled a targeted selection of the first alpacas for this research panel, which is intended to benefit the entire alpaca breeding community.

Second Panel for Validation with further 384 Alpacas

In the second panel, comprising a total of 384 alpacas, the results from panel 1 will be reviewed and validated. After examining this large number of subjects, we will have a clear understanding of the influence of the genes identified so far on the phenotype and how they interact.
